Welcome to the page dedicated to hiking in Luchon-Superbagnères, a must-visit site for all mountain enthusiasts in Haute-Garonne. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, our area invites you to explore exceptional and protected landscapes, in the heart of the Pyrenees, on varied routes suitable for all levels.

The GR10: The legendary crossing of the Pyrenees

The GR10, an emblematic long-distance trail, crosses the Luchon-Superbagnères area. This route connects the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, offering a unique experience through the Pyrenean mountains.

From Bagnères-de-Luchon, the GR10 climbs towards Luchon-Superbagnères via a sporty ascent through the forest, leading to a panoramic plateau.

This section offers spectacular views of the valley and surrounding peaks, perfect for lovers of wide-open spaces.

If the ascent has been too intense to ensure the return descent, the cable car will be a great help and the mountain restaurants will offer a well-deserved break. On the contrary, if you are in good shape, you can continue on the GR10 towards Espingo and Lake Oô.

The 3 must-do circuits of Luchon-Superbagnères

In our area, three marked circuits await you to discover the natural richness of the region

1. Crest Circuit
4km - 100mD+ (1h25)

Very accessible and family-friendly, the crest circuit is a loop route starting from the parking lot of the Luchon-Superbagnères station.
Follow the GR10 to the upper station of the Crabouilles chairlift, then continue along the ridge to the west. This aerial route, dotted with numerous picnic tables, offers breathtaking panoramas of the Crabioules circus, Aneto, and other peaks of the Luchonnais.
Ideal for hikers in search of exceptional viewpoints.

2. Estives Circuit: 6.5km – 295mD+ (2h55)

The estives circuit takes you to discover the high-altitude pastures and the state forest. This trail, relatively accessible, follows both a section of the GR10 and the old cog railway path through refreshing flora, notably sheltering the Capercaillie, a protected species.

3. Deer Circuit: 8.5km – 475mD+ (4h15)

The deer circuit is the longest hiking loop in Luchon-Superbagnères. It will take you to meet two lakes: La Laquette and the Arbesquens basin. Oscillating between forests and rockier landscapes, this route offers lesser-known and wilder viewpoints where you will discover the area and the valley from a different angle.
