Welcome to Mourtis: The picturesque mountain station located at the gates of the Val d’Aran, in the Pyrenees, for a summer vacation at the top!

In summer, this authentic destination offers a unique experience, combining preserved nature, hikes for the most seasoned, and family walks.

Mourtis cultivates the authenticity of the welcome it offers to its guests. Nestled in the heart of a magnificent fir forest, it attracts those seeking a true mountain destination.

The chalets and mountain buildings well integrated into their wooded environment create a unique atmosphere.

Summer events

Trail du Mourtis, 3 mai 2025

  • les amateurs de trail auront le choix entre plusieurs parcours, aussi bien pour les enfants que pour les adultes.

Transhumance de l’Escalette, le 1ᵉʳ juin :

  • tradition pastorale inscrite au patrimoine mondiale de l’UNESCO. Un départ à 8h de Boutx avec bénédiction du troupeau et randonnée de 3h puis un autre départ à 11h du col de Menté avec 45 min de marche

Tour du Comminges Pyrénées 2025, 28 et 29 juin 2025

  • Cette course cycliste de renommée régionale comportera trois étapes, dont l’une aura lieu à la station du Mourtis. Les coureurs s’affronteront sur un parcours exigeant qui les mènera au sommet du Mourtis, offrant des panoramas spectaculaires sur la chaîne des Pyrénées.

La grande traversée de la Haute-Garonne, 27 juin au 1 juillet.

  • Première édition de ce raid aventure et nature multisport chronométré en équipe de 3 ou 4 personnes avec la possibilité de participer à la journée ou sur les 5 jours. L’étape d’arrivée aura le 1ᵉʳ juillet au Mourtis suivie d’un brandon, d’un feu d’artifice et de festivités.

Enduro du Mourtis, le 12 et 13 juillet :

  • un week-end VTT à ne pas rater.

Descente Libre Longboard, du 25 au 27 juillet :

  • l’association des Longboardeurs Toulousains propose l’expérience unique de dévaler le col de Menté. Tombola, camping, buvette et gratuit pour les visiteurs. Vive les sports extrêmes !

JO du Berger, le 15 août :

  • épreuves accessibles à tous, sans réelle compétition, dans une ambiance conviviale et familiale.

Station activities

Hiking and Wildlife Observation

Experienced hikers will find their happiness here. Between Tuc de Pan and Escalette, Mourtis offers a playground suitable for all levels.

Enjoy the unobstructed view of the plains and the Pyrenean peaks. Marvel at the spectacle of a pair of Bearded Vultures soaring through the air.

Follow the tracks of the great stags, a footprint here, a tuft of fur there…

A hotspot for MTB and enduro

Below Mourtis, you will find nearly 65 kilometers of marked trails for MTB and enduro. These trails wind through the woods, offering playful terrain movements, slopes for thrill-seekers, and a pleasant flow. The trails are freely accessible, and you can explore different levels of difficulty.

We have more than 8 marked trails designed for downhill cross.

Varied activities

For relaxation enthusiasts, free activities such as disc golf, a treasure hunt, and walks are offered.

Explore the mountain differently with cani-hiking, a unique and friendly activity offered at the Mourtis station by Le Souffle Nordique. Go on an adventure in the heart of the Pyrenees, accompanied by a pack of huskies and guided by a professional musher.

The Valéen lift

Valley Lift “The Crémaillère Express”: This lift connects the station to the town of Luchon in 8 minutes. Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view during your ride.

Every day from 9 AM to 6 PM – from July 4 to August 31, 2025 inclusive, as well as the first three weekends of September.

History

A Place Rich in History: Luchon-Superbagnères is the second mountain station created in France, after Chamonix. Immerse yourself in the history of Pyreneism and discover the legends surrounding these mountains.

Since the 1900s, Luchon-Superbagnères has shone, it is the oldest station in the Pyrenees.

Golf

Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the renowned 9-hole golf course of Luchon-Superbagnères. Play amidst the mountains and enjoy the pleasant temperatures of this superb site nestled at 600 m altitude.

Paragliding

If you are looking for thrills, Luchon-Superbagnères is the ideal place to try a paragliding baptism. Fly over the mountains and admire the beauty of the surroundings from the air.

Tennis

Luchon offers tennis enthusiasts one of the most beautiful practice sites in Occitanie. Facing the Port de Vénasque, enjoy 4 traditional clay courts and 4 hard courts to satisfy all playing styles.

Off-station activities

Aerodrome

Climb the multiple peaks over 3000m, admire the 13 glaciers, the hundred glacial lakes, and push yourself to reach the summit of the Pyrenees, the Aneto peak, at 3404m altitude!
